I’ve been looking for something for my almost 3yo as I have amazing vintage fabric (from my grandma) but not enough for me…!
So I will make a few of these, but into dresses!
Thanks for the inspiration!

That looks adorable. I have a 9 month old, so this should make a nice addition to her next spring/summer wardrobe. Thank you.

That is soooo adorable! I would love to have childrens patterns for boys too! It is hard to find interesting patterns that don’t look like I tried to make denim pajamas

Yeah, it’s had to find boys stuff(I have a 4yr old). For this pattern I’d suggest doing “jammers” that’s what we called them in the 80’s, for the pants. Instead of gathering the cuffs, just leave them full, it’s actually popular among alot of european children’s patterns. The top is tricky…hmmm..Maybe go with an Asian flair, do a tailored fit sleeve, keep the A-line body, but make it button down the front and do a mandarin/military style collar, of course shorten the lenth a bit, add pockts…LOTS of pockets on both the top and pants….just an idea…..

Adorable! It makes me want to upload more children’s patterns as well. Well done!

tcarole, you’re right to go by pattern sizes, though I find going by height and chest measurements give me the best fit. Even if you had the child there to fit, they dont’s always stay still. :) I use a garment I know fits to get an idea of the fit. As a mother and auntie I know about the crazy sizing. My 19 month old daughter is tiny, she still fits 12mos for chest/waist, but her height is 18-24mos. My neice on the other hand who is 28months fits in 3-4T’s for chest and waist, but they tend to hang a little long on her. That’s why I prefer to sew their clothes, store bought gets a little hectic.

Can it be clarified what the sizes are? The range listed in the description is 92-110 (2-5), but the pattern is labeled 92, 104, 116, 128 (2, 4, 6, 8). It is hard to tell from the .pdf without printing all 19 pages and measuring.
Thanks for the kids clothes! I was just looking for some here yesterday. :)

Ooh! This is so pretty! I will have to get to work on having a girl. :) I agree with some other comments that I would love to see boy patterns.

Pity, I have a boy with 3 years. Could you do a how-to to convert this into boy’s clothing?
Sep 16, 2008, 10.27 AMby zora
It’s cute but why, why, why did it have to be a girls pattern?
50% of all kids are boys but boys patterns are nowhere to be found so please Burdastyle can you give us a boys pattern next time?
Sep 16, 2008, 08.28 AMby tcarole
Oh, and how about stuff for boys? My best friend has a boy and I’ve had a really hard time finding cute stuff to make for him. She won’t let me dress him up like a girl like I want to. :-(

Even if you don’t have children (like me), chances are, you have friends and family that do and simple, cute patterns like this are great. So easy to customize for your favorite shorties.
The thing I find the most challenging is that I don’t know what sizes to make. I don’t have the model to fit on so I have to guess, based on age and, on some patterns, by weight. It’s pretty hard to measure a wiggly baby and they double in size in a week, it seems. And it seems like they never wear the size that corresponds with their age. People tell me, as an example, “oh, she’s 13 months, but she’s wearing a 2T”. As a non-parent, what does that mean??? I’m just trying to figure out what size will fit her now? Or, what size will she be in December when I finally finish the parka I’m making her???
Parents, if you could help us out with more info, it would mean more cute homemade outfits and who doesn’t want that???

Glad you all like it! We did not really plan doing kid’s clothes, it was more a try out to see how it was received. Clearly well. Makes us realize, we should do more :)
I will add the meters right now hcbouma…

Thank you! This will be perfect for my little one for this coming summer downunder.
Sep 15, 2008, 07.31 PMby peaudane
Cute! on the pattern it says 92-128, which is a much larger size range than 92-110. I hope those are the correct sizes because I could then make it for my 5 year old!
